Pau d’Arco

Pau d’Arco or Lapacho (Tabebuia avellanedae) is a tree native to South America.

From its bark is obtained a substance, Lapacholo, with antitumor action, antibiotic, able to interfere with the mitochondrial metabolism of oxygen, through the inhibition of electronic transport. 

In general, the properties of this plant are mainly antibacterial, fungicidal (against Candida albicans), anti-inflammatory, antioxidants, depurative and tonic. 

In addition to the above mentioned uses, Pau d’Arco promotes weight loss and has an anti-inflammatory action especially in the mucosa of the intestinal tract, bladder and prostate, mouth and throat.
