Serenoa
Serenoa (Serenoa repens) is a plant known for its balancing action on the hormonal system, also useful against alopecia and prostate problems.
The active ingredients contained in the fruits are sterile, free fatty acids, carotenoids, essential oils and polysaccharides: they have above all an anti-inflammatory and diuretic action.
Serenoa is therefore widely used in the treatment of diseases of the uro-genital male apparatus, in the benign prostatic hypertrophy at the first stage and in urinary disorders.
The anti-inflammatory and anti-dextrogenic action is due to the ability to reduce the capillary permeability, induced by histamine, and the cervical-prostatic obstruction, acting on the cells of the prostatic tissue limiting the proliferation, which causes swelling and subsequent inflammation.
This congestion and increase in volume (in men over the age of 50, compresses the bladder and tightens the urethra, resulting in difficulty in urinating and frequent stimulation to urination.
