Polycosanols

Polycosanols are natural substances found in various vegetable waxes, particularly in sugar cane, from which they are extracted.

Chemically they are a mixture of long chain linear aliphatic alcohol (e.g. Octosanol).

Polycosanols are used to improve general health:

  • they prevent the formation of blood clots (platelet binding action), reducing the formation of thrombus;
  • they regulate the level of cholesterol in the blood;
  • very useful against free radicals and oxidation of LDL (bad cholesterol);
  • they have a positive action on the cardio-vascular system because they are able to reduce the proliferation of smooth muscle cells in the wall of vessels responsible for reducing blood flow.

Polycosanols are present in the food supplement CHOLESTEROL CARE (https://www.elisirlife.it/en/integratore-alimentare-cholesterol-care-100-cps.html)
