Adaptogenic plants

Plants or herbal extracts capable of increasing the body’s resistance to various stressors, both physical and mental, are defined adaptogen.

Their action is aimed at the whole organism and not a specific organ.

They are recommended for general health, helping the body to achieve a balance known as homeostasis and to better face and overcome periods of intense psycho-physical stress, such as preparation for an exam, disorders related to senescence and seasonal changes, or simply and to relieve the body of heavy daily tasks.

Some of these plants help normalize hormone production by modulating cortisol (the stress hormone); others play an important antioxidant action, protecting mitochondria from stress-induced damage because they actually stimulate the cell to produce proteins that help resist stress by promoting longevity.

For this reason they are used in many anti-aging formulations.

Some of these adaptogens, such as Rhodiola, Uncaria, Turmeric, Maca, Ginseng and His are contained in the supplements of Elisir Life, with the aim of helping to “feel good in a natural way”.
