Pineapple
Pineapple stem is the internal part of the pineapple used as a dry extract in food supplements. It is rich in mineral salts, such as potassium and manganese, in vitamins A, B, C and carotenoids. It is an alkalizing food, because it reduces the acid level of pH, often caused by an incorrect and unbalanced diet, restoring the acid-basic balance and preventing inflammation, the primary cause of disease. The fibers of the stem are rich in bromelain (a mixture of sulfhydric proteolytic enzymes), to which are ascribed anti-inflammatory, anti-dematose, fibrinolytic and digestive properties. It is also used for the disorders of the microcirculation and to counteract the imperfections of cellulite. The stem performs a very effective decongestant action, stimulates the drainage of the inflammatory focus and the reabsorption of the hemorrhagic effusion. Even in case of obesity, pineapple is a valid helper: thanks to its diuretic action, due to the presence of organic acids, it stimulates the elimination of excess liquids accumulated in the subcutaneous tissue.
